Invitation to Attend
The Tasmanian Association for Hospice & Palliative Care Inc is delighted to host the “Tassie Communities Talk Death” Forum. The theme reflects the focus of our "Networking End of Life Care Across Tasmania: Integration, Innovation and Inclusion” Project to encourage all Tasmanians to discuss their end of life care wishes and how people in local communities can actively support friends, neighbours and work-mates facing life-limiting illness and bereavement.
This TAHPC Project has been funded by the Australian Department of Health under the Better Access to Palliative Care in Tasmania (BAPC) program. We are proud to partner with the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Service’s BAPC Project team in hosting this inaugural palliative care forum.
Many of the exciting and innovative projects that have been happening over the past year will be showcased at the Forum, providing inspiration and practical tips for others to try some new ideas in their communities and workplaces.
Local and interstate speakers will be discussing how communities can engage in discussion of quality of life, death, dying and bereavement, and the role of the arts in opening new ways to reflect on death and dying. There will be presentations on clinical care issues, as well as consideration of how Tasmanian hospice and palliative care services might be delivered in the future and how consumers might have a say in the design and delivery of end of life care services services across the state.
This is an exciting opportunity for community members, volunteers, consumers and carers, community, health, and aged care services to come together to share knowledge, build networks and be inspired with new ideas.
Be sure to register your interest early, as numbers will be strictly limited.
